GameProofer eTag - a disc golf smart tag for net and simulator practice

GameProofer eTag is a disc golf smart tag designed and manufactured in Finland, built specifically for throwing practice into a net and for use with the Link Disc Golf Simulator. The new eTag is smaller, lighter and more accurate than the earlier Tag, and its core components have been redesigned. The tag attaches to your own disc with a separate base unit mount, so a single sensor lets you practise with several different discs.

The eTag ships with three base unit mounts. Fit them to three different discs in advance and move the eTag from one disc to another in seconds, without applying new mounting tape every time. That way you can practise with your own familiar putters, midranges and drivers using the same sensor.

The eTag is optimised for Link Disc Golf Simulator use, and according to the manufacturer the connection runs with no noticeable latency in practice. A Link Disc Golf Simulator membership or licence is not included in the standard eTag package and is purchased separately.

The eTag runs on a replaceable CR1220 coin cell that the manufacturer rates at roughly 1000 throws. There is no wireless charging and no activation magnet, because the tag has its own ON/OFF button. The eTag does not include a GPS sensor.

eTag or Tag?

The eTag is built specifically for net and simulator practice. It is smaller and lighter, moves quickly from one disc to another, runs on a replaceable coin cell and works without an activation magnet. The eTag is also compatible with the Link Disc Golf Simulator.

The Tag is the original GameProofer tag, with a GPS sensor, wireless charging and magnet activation. The Tag weighs about 9 g and is roughly 40 mm in diameter. The Tag is a discontinued model and is not compatible with the Link Disc Golf Simulator.
