Discraft Luna Battle Pack is an entirely new kind of release that combines competitive spirit, disc testing, and community participation – all in one carefully constructed package. The Battle Pack idea originated from the Luna Battle series between Paul McBeth and Anthony Barela, where they faced each other in 1v1 matches using only Luna discs. This sparked the idea to place the same question in the hands of thousands of players: does the UltraStar structure change the Luna’s flight and feel?

Each Battle Pack contains two discs: the classic Luna and the UltraLuna – a Luna molded with UltraStar-style rings inspired by Ultimate discs. These rings are designed to affect the disc’s grip and release – and possibly its flight. Players are tasked with testing, comparing, and ultimately answering the question: does the flight really change?

Luna is a modern, neutral-flying putter and approach disc that glides effortlessly and feels clean in the hand thanks to its beadless design; it holds the intended line precisely, putts stay straight, and approach shots land softly without strong fade. Off the tee, Luna handles power well and offers a controlled hyzer-flip to flat flight, making it a go-to disc for many players in a wide range of situations.

UltraLuna is the familiar Luna enhanced with experimental UltraStar flight rings to provide added texture and grip confidence. It maintains a neutral-stable flight and delivers precise control on the green along with confidence on tricky approach lines. The flight rings support cleaner releases and provide workable glide with a gentle finish.

Both discs are PDGA-approved for competitive play.

The Battle Pack is a blind bag release, meaning the disc colors, stamps, and versions vary. You won’t know what you get until you open the package – the unboxing is part of the experience. Each pack includes a QR code that allows you to answer the official survey and provide feedback. This helps Discraft evaluate the impact of the UltraStar flight rings and guides the development of future discs.

The Luna Battle Pack Redemption Program is Discraft’s first of its kind, and through it, select packs may contain a redemption card with a unique code redeemable for one of three collector sets: Full-Foil Sparkle (100 sets), SuperColor (50 sets), and CryZtal Ghost (50 sets). The code is single-use only and should not be shared, as it becomes permanently locked after redemption. Keep your code secure and follow the instructions on the redemption page; for any questions, contact Discraft support at support@discraft.com. Those who receive a redemption code can begin the process via the link that becomes active after the release date.

One lucky Battle Pack buyer will also find a Golden Ticket, which grants the opportunity to play a filmed round with Paul McBeth and Anthony Barela. This is a rare chance to become part of Discraft’s content and one of the highlight moments of the Luna Battle series.

The Luna Battle Pack is one of Discraft’s most interactive releases ever – a carefully curated set of Lunas and UltraLunas created to answer one big question: do UltraStar-style flight rings change how the Luna flies?

This release is specifically designed for real-world testing, based on thousands of throws and player experiences. Player observations and votes are key: does the stability, glide, torque resistance, or putting confidence change?

Each Battle Pack includes a QR code that allows players to submit feedback and vote for their preferred version. The collected responses help guide how Discraft develops discs in the future. Feedback can be submitted at: www.team.discraft.com/lunabattlepack

Discraft encourages players to share their Luna Battle Pack experience on social media. On-course comparisons, first impressions, slow-motion videos, or final verdicts – all content posted with the hashtag #LunaBattlePack enters a giveaway for two Discraft Prize Packs:
• Paul McBeth GRIPeq PX1 backpack filled with discs and gear
• Anthony Barela GRIPeq AX6 backpack with a similar loadout

Two winners will be selected and announced by Discraft after the voting period ends.

Background of the release
Luna was Paul McBeth’s first disc mold with Discraft, and it quickly became a trusted staple in many players’ bags. When Anthony Barela joined Team Discraft in 2023, he too found Luna to be a perfect fit thanks to its glide and ability to hold the intended line. This led to the creation of the Luna Battle Series – 1v1 challenges on Disc Golf Pro Tour courses, using only Lunas.

At the same time, Discraft’s Ultimate disc, the UltraStar, is known for its distinctive flight ring design. In 2025, these two worlds were brought together in an experimental way: Luna was given UltraStar-inspired flight rings, resulting in the UltraLuna. The goal is to test how this structure affects flight and feel.

The Luna Battle Pack is part of this broader experiment, with player community feedback at its core.
